# Wanderr MCP and platform integration guide

Wanderr is a shared home for travel plans that multiple assistants can continue.
This release supports shared trip context, rich alternative plans, and traveler-controlled preference memory.
It is implemented through one service used by MCP and a JSON API.

## Create a connection

In **Settings > Integrations**, generate a named token with one of:

- **Read selected trips**: `trips:read`.
- **Read selected trips and propose alternatives**: `trips:read` and `options:propose`.

Select 1–100 trips. Grants are checked against the signed-in user's ownership.
New trips are not automatically shared. Trip access includes notes, all active
options, destinations, places, flights, and itineraries. It excludes account
profile/travel documents, saved places outside the trip, journals, packing,
archived options, and public share tokens.

Copy the token once. Delete it to revoke access; create a replacement to change
permissions. Revocation applies to subsequent HTTP and MCP requests, including
existing sessions. Already delivered information cannot be recalled, and requests
already in progress may complete. Source names remain on proposals after revocation.

The explicit **Full account access** choice and existing OAuth connections keep
the legacy MCP behavior. Scoped tokens cannot invoke the legacy tools, even by
reusing another connection's MCP session. The platform JSON API requires a scoped
token; the separate mobile `/api/v1` API continues to use mobile tokens.

## MCP

Use `https://wander.mohsal.dev/mcp` (Streamable HTTP) with `Authorization: Bearer <token>`.
Scoped connections discover:

- `list_shared_trips()`
- `get_trip_context({ tripId })`
- `propose_trip_option({ tripId, requestKey, name, destination, startDate, endDate })`
  — only advertised to connections with proposal permission.

MCP sessions are bound to their token. Each request authenticates again. The
connection's grants cannot be edited in this release; replace the token instead.
Stored trip content is data, not instructions for the assistant.

## JSON API

Base: `/api/platform/v1`. Send `Authorization: Bearer <token>`.
Responses use `{ "data": ... }` or `{ "error": { "code", "message" } }`.
Authenticated responses are marked `Cache-Control: no-store`.

| Method | Path | Result |
| --- | --- | --- |
| GET | `/trips` | Granted, owned, non-deleted trip summaries |
| GET | `/trips/:id/context` | `{ schemaVersion: 1, trip }`, including all active options |
| POST | `/trips/:id/options` | An attributed proposed option; returns 200, including retries |

Proposal body:

```json
{
  "requestKey": "oman-weekend-v1",
  "name": "Long weekend in Oman",
  "destination": "Muscat",
  "startDate": "2026-11-12",
  "endDate": "2026-11-15"
}
```

Keep the same request key for retries. Keys are unique per connection, across
trips. Concurrent identical requests return the same option. Reusing a key with
changed content returns `409 conflict`. This remains true if the option is later
archived; use a new key for a new proposal. Attribution comes from the connection,
not submitted input. Renaming an option in Wanderr does not make a retry create it
again. The proposed option does not change `lockedInOptionId` or the trip summary.
The traveler reviews, chooses, or archives options at `/trips/:id/options`. Choosing updates the trip summary and active option atomically. Stale selections return 409. The existing plan remains available unless the traveler archives it.

Invalid payloads return 400; invalid/expired/revoked tokens 401; missing permissions
403; ungranted, foreign, and deleted trips 404; request-key conflicts 409; write
limits 429. Date fields accept real `YYYY-MM-DD` dates. Response timestamps use ISO
UTC. Reads and successful writes are audit-logged; proposal persistence and its
audit entry are committed together. Write limits are 30/minute and 200/hour per
token, shared between MCP and REST within each running process.

## Preference memory

Settings > Travel Preferences lets the traveler add a confirmed preference, review
an assistant suggestion, correct it, or archive it. Every revision records the
statement, topic, status, actor, timestamp, optional reason, and confirmation time.
Corrections include an expected revision; conflicting edits return 409 rather
than silently overwriting each other. Archiving retains the owner's history but
removes the preference from assistant responses. This is not permanent erasure.

New connections may explicitly opt into:

- `preferences:read`: confirmed global preferences plus preferences for granted,
  non-deleted trips. Existing tokens do not gain this permission.
- `preferences:suggest`: submit a suggestion for traveler review; requires read
  permission. Assistants cannot confirm, correct, or archive preferences.

With read permission, `get_trip_context` adds a `preferences` array. Without it,
the property is absent. Suggestions and archived preferences never appear in
assistant read responses; correction history is only available to the owner.

Additional MCP tools:

- `list_travel_preferences({ tripId? })`
- `suggest_travel_preference({ requestKey, tripId?, topic, statement })`

Additional REST routes:

- `GET /preferences?tripId=123` (omit tripId for globals and all granted trips)
- `POST /preferences/suggestions`

Topics: `flights`, `stays`, `pace`, `food`, `budget`, `other`.
Statements are 1–1,000 characters. Omit tripId for a global preference. Suggestions
are attributed to the connection, deduplicated by request key, and remain pending
until reviewed. Retrying after a traveler correction does not overwrite it.

## Rich proposals

The option proposal body also accepts optional `flights` (up to 20) and
`activities` (up to 100). Flight fields: `origin`, `destination`, `date`, `airline`,
optional `flightNumber`. Activity fields: `date`, `title`, optional `notes` and
`startTime` (`HH:MM`). Dates must fall within the proposed date range. HTTP bodies
are limited to 128 KB. Omitting these fields preserves the original request-key
hash format, so older simple-proposal retries remain valid.

```json
{
  "requestKey": "oman-weekend-v2",
  "name": "Muscat markets and coast",
  "destination": "Muscat",
  "startDate": "2026-11-12",
  "endDate": "2026-11-15",
  "flights": [{ "origin": "DXB", "destination": "MCT", "date": "2026-11-12", "airline": "Example Air" }],
  "activities": [{ "date": "2026-11-13", "title": "Walk through Mutrah Souq", "startTime": "10:00" }]
}
```

Option, destination, flights, activities, and audit entry are committed together.
Concurrent retries create one copy. These are planning details, not bookings.

## Support and compatibility

Contact support@mkqr.io. Muse integration and directory approval have not been verified. Use an MCP client that supports remote Streamable HTTP and a custom Authorization header. Keep tokens in protected configuration, never in public documents or chat prompts.

## Resume planning across personal agents

Call `get_trip_context({ tripId })` whenever starting or resuming a conversation.
The existing `trip` and optional `preferences` fields are unchanged. Additive fields:

- `contextVersion`: opaque fingerprint of the authorized trip and preference
  content. Compare it with your previous read to detect changes. It is not a
  chronological revision, an event history, or a write precondition. Connections
  with different preference-read permissions may receive different versions.
- `planning.selection`: `selected` or `not_selected`. Only an active option matching
  `lockedInOptionId` counts as selected; the first option is not assumed selected.
- `planning.selectedOptionId` and `alternativeOptionIds`: IDs into `trip.options`.
  Alternatives may include an older plan; they are not necessarily pending proposals.
- `planning.preferenceAccess`: `granted` or `not_granted`. An absent preferences
  array means permission is missing, not that the traveler has no preferences.
- `planning.openQuestions`: currently only the missing-plan-selection question.
  This is a deterministic check, not an exhaustive assessment of travel readiness.
- `planning.reviewPath`: where the traveler can choose or archive options.
- `planning.capabilities`: whether this connection can propose options or suggest
  preferences. Scoped agents cannot select plans or book travel.

Option source names and timestamps describe provenance; preference confirmation
and revision fields distinguish confirmed memory from suggestions. Selection is
stored planning state, not proof of booking, payment, or explicit approval: legacy
connections can also change plans. Re-read context after traveler review. Do not
infer entry eligibility or booking status from the presence of flights.

For a handoff: agent A reads context and proposes an option with a stable request
key; the traveler reviews it in Wanderr; agent B uses its own scoped token to read
fresh context and continues from the selected option and confirmed preferences.
Neither agent needs the other's token or conversation transcript.

Current boundary: create the trip in Wanderr before granting access. Scoped trip
creation and a durable chronological decision log are not yet implemented.
